Most people try to live life from the outside in.

We wait for circumstances to give us a certain feeling.

Success so we can feel fulfilled.

Love so we can feel complete.

Recognition so we can feel worthy.

But when our inner state depends on what happens around us, we are constantly reacting to life.

We try to fill an inner lack with something external.

And no matter how much we achieve or obtain, real fulfillment often still feels just out of reach.

True fulfillment does not begin outside of us.

It begins within.

“Most people try to fill their life from the outside.

Real fulfillment begins on the inside.”

Living from the outside in

When we live from the outside in, the world determines how we feel.

If someone appreciates us, we feel good.

If someone rejects us, we feel unworthy.

If something succeeds, we feel confident.

If something fails, we feel insecure.

Our inner state becomes a reaction to circumstances.

But circumstances constantly change.

So we keep searching for something that will finally give us lasting safety, love, or fulfillment.

Yet what we are searching for already exists within us.

Living from within

Living from within means reconnecting with your inner state first.

Instead of waiting for life to give you a feeling, you begin to discover that you already have access to the source of that feeling.

Peace.

Love.

Safety.

Trust.

Fulfillment.

When you begin to experience these states internally, something subtle but powerful shifts.

You respond differently.

You perceive differently.

You move through life differently.

And often the outside world begins to respond to that shift.

“When you live from within, the world stops defining you and starts reflecting you.”

Inner State Tuning

One way to access this is through what I call Inner State Tuning.

Inner State Tuning means consciously aligning yourself with the feeling you want to experience.

Instead of waiting for circumstances to create that feeling, you intentionally connect with that inner state first.

You might ask yourself:

How do I want to feel today?

Peace.

Trust.

Freedom.

By becoming still for a moment and allowing yourself to feel that state internally, your body begins to experience it.

From there, your energy, posture and choices naturally shift.

“Your inner state does not have to wait for your life to change.

Your life often changes when your inner state does.”

Feel it to Heal it – Feel it to Create it

Within The Emotion Method, emotional transformation often unfolds in two phases.

Feel it to Heal it

Before we can consciously create new emotional states, we often need to create space in the nervous system.

Many people try to feel better while their body is still carrying unprocessed emotions such as tension, fear, sadness or shame.

That is why the first step is often allowing yourself to feel what is already present.

Not analyzing it.

Not suppressing it.

Simply allowing it.

When emotions are fully felt, their energy can move and release.

The system slowly returns to a state of neutrality.

A place of openness and calm.

Feel it to Create it

From that neutral state, something powerful becomes possible.

You can begin to consciously choose how you want to feel.

This is what I call Feel it to Create it.

You start allowing feelings such as:

trust

love

freedom

fulfillment

From this inner state, different actions naturally arise, and life often begins to respond differently as well.

Why the outside world often feels like a mirror

Many people experience their outer world as a reflection of their inner state.

When you feel stressed internally, the world seems full of pressure.

When you feel open and relaxed, opportunities and connections seem easier.

Part of this can be explained by the Reticular Activating System (RAS) in the brain.

This system acts as a filter for attention.

Every second we receive enormous amounts of sensory information, but the brain cannot process all of it consciously.

So the RAS filters what we notice.

And that filter is influenced by our beliefs, focus and emotional state.

When we focus on lack or rejection, our brain notices more situations that confirm that experience.

When we focus on trust or possibility, we begin to see different signals.

The world may not instantly change.

But our perception does.

And perception shapes behavior, decisions and opportunities.

Be – Do – Have

Many people try to create life from the order:

Have → Do → Be

When I have that, I will do this, and then I will feel that way.

But life often unfolds in the opposite direction.

The natural order is:

Be → Do → Have

First being.

Connecting with the inner state you want to live from.

From that state, different actions naturally emerge.

And from those actions, new results appear.

“We don’t create our lives from what we have.

We create them from who we are being.”

Remembering who you are

Living from within may ultimately be about something deeper than creating a better life.

It may be about remembering who we truly are.

Not a human trying to become whole.

But consciousness temporarily experiencing life as a human being.

From that perspective we are already connected to the source of love, safety and creativity.

And when we begin to feel that, something fundamental shifts.

We stop searching for fulfillment outside ourselves.

And realize the source we were seeking has always been within us.

“You are not searching for the source of love, safety or fulfillment.

You are remembering that you are the source.”

With Love,

Willemijn
